What's better than pizza in the world? We believe next to nothing. But if lately it swells or weighs you down, why not satisfy the desire with an alternative that is lighter and vegetable based? Well, that is what Italians thought and why they came up with super delicious Melanzane alla Pizzaiola!

Actually, both the southern regions, Campania and Sicily, and Naples claim the origin of the dish. No wonder, as great as it tastes!

Ingredients

Not only does Melanzane all Pizzaiola taste great, it is also super easy to make and doesn't require a lot of ingredients.

As always, buying fresh and local is the key to making your recipe a success!

  • 1 big eggplants
  • 1 cup tomato sauce 
  • 250gr mozzarella
  • 1 sliced onion or garlic Oregano
  • Basil leaves
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Yolioo Amedeo

Preparation

  1. Cut the aubergine into 2cm thick slices, salt the surface and roast them on both sides
  2. Cook the tomato sauce with the cliced onion, garlic clove, oregano and salt for 15 minutes
  3. Place the aubergines on a baking trayand season it with tomato sauce, a slice of mozzarella, a basil leaf, pepper and a Yolioo Amadeo thread
  4. Bake for 15 minutes at 180°

Serve the dish still hot as an appetiser or as a single vegetarian dish with a nice green salad
